Breast Cancer Thrivers- raising arms over head in yoga postures – MODIFICATION 1

Yoga
Many breast cancer survivors or those who have undergone breast surgery, radiation, or shoulder pain may find it challenging to raise their arms over their heads during yoga practice. But don’t worry, there are modifications you can make to still experience the benefits of these poses!

In this video, I’m demonstrating an alternative movement of raising your arms overhead that can help ease discomfort and reduce strain on the shoulders and chest. By simply alternating the movement of your arms, you can still get the benefits of opening up your chest, improving your posture, and increasing your flexibility.

Remember to listen to your body and honor where you’re at in your recovery journey. Take your time, be patient with yourself, and don’t hesitate to modify or skip poses that don’t feel comfortable. Let’s continue to support each other and find healing and strength through the practice of yoga! 🙏
